Replicas & Editions: Robert Tait McKenzie Discs

Dr. Robert Tait McKenzie was born in Ontario Canada in May of 1867. During his lifetime McKenzie served as a physician & surgeon, a soldier, an athlete, an educator and an artist. He came to the University of Pennsylvania in 1904 as the Head of the new Department of Physical Education where he used sculpture to illustrate points for his anatomy classes in hopes that he could portray the ideals of physical development through art.    Read More...
